About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time General Engineer (NH-0801-02T3) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Electronic Warfare Group, 445th Test Squadron (445 TS/EWJE) at Edwards Air Force Base.
The primary purpose is to perform technical work and junior professional engineering to modeling and simulation systems that support developmental and operational test and evaluation (DT&E and OT&E) test programs. These systems consist of computer networks, system integration laboratories (SIL), and/or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) facilities integrating digital and analog processors, cockpit displays and controls, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and operational flight program software. The software includes algorithms for navigation, ordnance targeting/delivery, flight controls, energy & propulsion management, communications, sensor imaging, and target locations and identification.

Typical 2026 salary range: $47,490 - $113,185 per year (includes locality)
Travel Requirements: Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) approximately 60 days per year by military or commercial aircraft.

Desired Skills:
- 2 years of flight test experience desired.
- 2 years of leading a technical team greater than 3 people desired.
- 1 year with modeling and simulation desired.
Major Duties:
- Provide entry level experience test engineering and planning in the area of flight dynamics, avionics, armament, sensor and electronic warfare systems applied to modeling and simulation techniques used for real-time, constructive and/or live interactive systems.
- Participation and assistance in the planning, conduct, analysis, and reporting on test projects is required.
- Serve to develop and apply appropriate and innovative modeling and simulation techniques for the evaluation of test.
- Project performance is evaluated and tracked. An effective reporting system is implemented such that there is adequate resolution of system related deficiencies.
- Provide advice, counsel and instruction on avionics, armament, sensor, and electronic combat flight and ground test technical matters in areas of experience. Identifies and resolves problems of a conflicting or obscure nature, taking positive corrective action.
- Perform technical and engineering work using classified information in various media and formats.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
- This is a drug-testing designated position.
- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution. (Check OPM Qualifications Standard and Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR))
- Obtain & maintain DAU Level II for Test and Evaluation.
- Knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques across multiple interrelated and integrated technical and test engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of combat aircraft avionics, armament, or electronic warfare systems or related systems/subsystems.
- Knowledge of flight and laboratory air vehicle/missile test conduct, coordination and supervision, data analysis/evaluation and applicable flight test truth sources, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of flight test programs.
- Ability to plan and organize work, coordinate between various electronic/aerospace/mechanical engineering and test disciplines, and coordinate with other Air Force, DOD, and other domestic and foreign government agencies.
