About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Logistics Flight Chief (NH-0301-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Test Engineering Group, 812th Test Support Squadron (812 TSS/ENT) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.

To lead and coordinate the Logistics Flight by planning, directing, and overseeing mission‑critical operations, ensuring personnel, resources, and processes are effectively managed to meet organizational requirements. As the Logistics Flight Chief for the 812th Test Support Squadron, the purpose of this position is to deliver integrated logistics solutions that maximize equipment availability and life cycle management in direct support of the 412th Test Engineering Group mission.

Location: Edwards, CA (Edwards Air force Base)

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313 per year (includes locality)

Travel Requirements: Appoximately 10 days per year

Areas of Consideration (AOC): Installation – wide (Edwards AFB)

Desired Skills:

- 5 years of related logistics work experience desired.

- Experience managing mixed government and support contractor logistics workforce.

- Ability to lead, and/or experience in, the development and/or utilization of automated equipment tracking/inventory systems.

- Experience tracking and management of COMSEC equipment.

- Experience and knowledge with Material Management Procedures, DAFMAN 23-300.

- Experience and knowledge with the government Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS).

Major Duties:

- Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time over subordinate employees predominately in the General Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services Group and journey level or higher.

- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate employees, sets and adjusts short and long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.

- Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

- Evaluates work performance, gives advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinates on both work and administrative matters.

- Interviews candidates for positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment.

- Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager.

- Effects minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases.

- Identifies developmental and training needs of employees and provides or arranges required development and training.

- Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed.

- Provides a work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium (or large) sized organization.
