About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Electronics Engineer (NH-0855-03) to work at the 96 TW, 96 RN, 96 RANSS/RNRT at Eglin Air Force Base.
This position serves as an Electronics Engineer responsible for the Eglin Test and Training Complex (ETTC) Threat Radar Systems in the 96th Range Support Squadron Target Systems Flight (96 RANSS/RNRT).
The 96th RANSS mission is to develop, acquire and integrate instrumentation systems; provide range assets, target/threat assets, engineering, technical management, and range/facility configuration control required to provide and ensure airborne/range/facility resources are available to conduct armament, C4I, and EW test, evaluation, and training in support of current and future TW mission requirements. The Target Systems Flight is responsible for all development and engineering tasks related to providing mobile targets, fixed targets, and the ETTC Electronic Combat Range threat systems to support Eglin AFB test and training. The Target Systems Flight is seeking an individual with the technical skills and abilities necessary to serve as a recognized expert for Threat Radar Systems/Simulators, particularly the Closed Loop Passive Electronically Scanned Array Simulator (CLPS), the Radar Signal Emulator (RSE), various low cost threat emitters (LCTEs) and other modern and legacy foreign threat radar systems and simulators. The incumbent should have experience in design, development, fabrication and integration of specialized electronic systems particularly modern radars, threat radars and related instrumentation.

Typical 2026 salary range: $89,507 - $138,369 per year (includes locality)
Travel Requirements: Travel is minimal (10% or less)

Desired Skills:
2 years of radar/threat system technical and program management desired.
2 years of experience with test and training operations desired, including customer interaction, requirements definition, range resource identification, and data collection.
2 years experience in design and development of radars, foreign threat radars, and related instrumentation used in a military environment desired.
Major Duties:
Provide technical management of the operation of these threat radar systems and related sites/facilities.
Plans, manages, and leads all aspects of assigned projects or portions of projects from initial customer contact through the execution including required instrumentation and documentation.
Planning, acquisition, integration into the range and associated data infrastructure, testing, and acceptance of advanced threat radar systems and threat radar simulators
Provide support for the sustainment of these systems including development and advocacy of funding requirements from all funding streams.
Serve as an expert in design and development (hardware, software, firmware) of phased array radars, foreign threat radars and related complex digital instrumentation used in testing of modern military systems and munitions.
Provide consultant services to other elements of the 96 Test Wing and the Air Force Test Center and associated customers.
Maintain secure environment in support of the Section regarding threat security classification guides, security during test execution, system upgrades, data delivery, and storage.
Develops, briefs, and advocates Improvement and Modernization programs to 96 Test Wing and Air Force Test Center senior leadership.
Interfaces with the range operation and maintenance contractor, test/program engineers, and customers to support test missions.

- Position requires a professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred..
