About the Role:

The 412th Maintenance Group is looking for a Full-Time/ Aircraft Ordnance systems Mechanic Supervisor (WS-6652-11) to work at the 412 TW, 412 MXG, 912 AMXS, MXAB at Edwards AFB, CA.

To exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades work of the munitions section of the organization; to provide weapons system on-equipment maintenance supervisor within the AMUs, which includes several bomber test and weapon systems. To manage, supervise, and technically direct personnel performing aircraft & ordnance system inspections, scheduling and unscheduled maintenance, repair, modification, and overhaul of various assigned aircraft and weapons systems and associated components, including organizational and intermediate and depot level maintenance and Type 2 modifications. May also be required to act as the flight's weapons manager.

Typical 2026 salary range: $61.58-$71.85 per hour (includes locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Major Duties:

- Performs work planning responsibilities. Plans work on weekly, monthly, or annual basis  for assigned crews, and is responsible for the successful execution of those plans.  

- Performs work direction responsibilities. Coordinates with outside organizations such as "T-2" Modification Docks,special Instrumentation, back shops, depot or contractors to plan for and execute forecasted mission and logistics support requirements.

- Performs administration responsibilities. Participates with other supervisors and higher management, and with employees in the development of performance plans.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
  • Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
  • Obtain & maintain Security clearance
  • Knowledge of Air Force aircraft Ordnance systems
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret, apply and use Air Force technical data and Type 2 modification plans,
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and do long-term work planning for aircraft maintenance mechanics of various specialties
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable).
