About the Role:
The 96th Test Wing is looking for a Full-Time Budget Analyst (NH-0560-02) to work at the 96th Test Wing (96TW/FMA) at Eglin AFB.
In this role you will serve as an entry-level budget analyst performing analysis for multi-year funding requirements in support of the 96th Test Wing. Managing execution of funds by monitoring obligations and expenditures to ensure effective utilization of resources. The candidate will be expected to provide financial advice on budget matters to include: funds availability, expenditure limitations, adjustments, and other tasks as required that integrate with broader organizational priorities.

Typical 2026 salary range: $40,736 - $97,087 Per Year

Desired Skills:
1 years of experience with the RDT&E appropriation desired

1 years of experience with data management systems, data analysis, and decision support desired
Major Duties:
Performs tasks to support budget formulation involving review and preparation of funding for one or more future budget years.
Performs basic tasks involving budget execution.
Performs a variety of routine tasks in the budget analysis field designed to advance analytical judgment, procedural and technical skills.
Uses automated financial management databases, systems and their products to aid in providing decision support as required.
Completes all tasks assigned in a timely fashion.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Depending on the type of position you are selected for, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the national Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management Section 1599d. (con.t)
- This is a DAWIA- BFM: Practitioner Certified Position (Previously Level 2)
- Basic knowledge of budget formulation practices, procedures, precedents and policies
- Ability to research and analyze data and to interpret findings, and the ability to use financial systems to do so
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Thorough understanding of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, including its phases, products, and regulatory framework.
