About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Telecommunications Specialist (NH-0391-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Mission Support Group, 412th Communications Squadron, (412 CS/SCOT) at Edwards Air Force Base.
To provide electromagnetic spectrum support to all federal agencies, programs, and projects in the Southern California High Desert region.

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313 Per Year

Desired Skills:
2 years of test Spectrum Measurement experience desired
2 years of radio frequency fundamental experience desired

Major Duties:
-Directly provides electromagnetic spectrum management and frequency control to all DoW and other federal agency activities operating in the Southern California High Desert region.
-Primarily responsible for the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), USAF Plant 42, the R-2508 Complex, and five special DoW-contracted test facilities operating in the region.
-Engineers Spectrum integrated LAN/WAN systems, architecture designs and monitors new network systems, configures and installs network hardware/software, and maintains optimal LAN operations.
-Independently installs, configures, and troubleshoots network and application server hardware, operating system software, specialist radio frequency measurement equipment, and peripheral network equipment such as routers, bridges, cabling, systems, network interface cards, multiplexers, and microwave interconnection equipment.
-Reviews all incoming AFTC programs introduction documents and provides technical advice to AFTC/XR on possible availability of spectrum and potential interference to existing programs. -Analyzes frequency proposals to identify potential problems in the RF spectrum prior to submittal to the United States Air Force Frequency Management Center, Washington, D.C. Participates in the Communications and Computer Systems Requirements Board (CCSRB) and all other plans and programs involving acquisition, development, experimentation, modification, installation, or use of electromagnetic devices. evises technical and procedural solutions for unique spectrum problems encountered by the Frequency Control and analysis (FCA) Facility.
-Develops, documents, and debugs specialized computer analysis software used in the FCA.
-Modifies established procedures onsurveillance and monitoring techniques to meet specific applications or special requirements.
-Is the AFTC representative at the Range Commander's Council Frequency Management Group (RCC FMG).
Qualifications/Requirements:

- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- Expert knowledge of all aspects of the principles, policies, concepts, methodology, operations, products, services, needs, and goals of the program and the organizations studied or served, to perform the supervisory and administrative duties of the position.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes Information Assurance(IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieveappropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six monthsrequirement may be granted per DoD 8570-01-M, C3.2.4.2. Failure to receive the proper IA certification mayresult in removal from this position.
