About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory General Engineer (NH-0801-04) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Electronic Warfare Group, 445th Test Squadron Operating Location (445 TS/OL) at Nellis Air Force Base.
This position is the Lead Engineer for the 445th Test Squadron, Digital Test and Training Range-Nellis, which serves as the 412 Electronic Warfare Group's focal point for achieving and maintaining a Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) at Nellis AFB, NV, representing the Air Force Test Center equities. Provides professional engineering expertise and direction to the JSE integration and operations teams. Oversees efforts of assigned military, civilian, and contractor engineers engaged in the development test and evaluation of JSE system architecture to support the digital test and training range at Nellis AFB. Demonstrates expertise in modeling and simulation, integration, and operation of modern combat aircraft, command and control, ground-based early warning and anti-aircraft platforms, as well as test planning, provisioning, execution, analysis and reporting. Responsible for the development and implementation of design, architecture, and validation/verification of the Digital Test and Training Range.

Typical 2026 salary range: $128,473 - $196.455 Per Year
Travel Requirements: Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) by military or commercial aircraft approximately 60 days per year.

Desired Skills:
-2 years of experience working as an engineer/operator, and/or analyst in a facility hosting the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE)
-2 years of flight test experience
-2 years of experience in USAF or USN flight operations in combat coded aircraft or unmanned aerial vehicle
Major Duties:
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Serves as the technical focal point in the development of the JSE digital test range, to direct, oversee, and integrate the efforts of military and civilian engineers assigned to develop and operate JSE.
Ensures integrated approaches across engineering efforts in support of JSE activities. Maintains cognizance of JSE team engineering activities.
Provides technical leadership to civilian, military and support contractor personnel engaged in executing the responsibilities assigned to JSE.

- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution. (Check OPM Qualifications Standard and Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR))
- Obtain & maintain DAU Level II for Test and Evaluation.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.”
- Expert knowledge and expertise in engineering with a high level of specialized knowledge in many of the following areas, plus expertise in applying Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to these areas; fifth generation aircraft operational characteristics, sensing systems, sensor fusion, countermeasure techniques and systems, capabilities of enemy and friendly threat systems (surface-to-air missiles, anti-aircraft artillery, air-to-air missiles) and associated radar systems, and Radar Cross section (RCS) and other low observable techniques.
- Expert knowledge of weapon systems and related subsystems/equipment and their projected use in the military and methods of testing; knowledge of federal and DoW acquisition regulations, processes and procedures.
- Ability to guide a team of engineers through the resolution of complex technical, resource and logistics challenges/issues related to the implementation of test and training architecture of advanced airborne systems.
