About the Role:

Full-Time/Perm Position Quality Assurance Inspector (NH-1910-02) to work at 412 MAINTENANCE GROUP QUALITY ASSURACE DIVISION (412 MXG/MXQ) at Edwards Air Force Base. Multiple openings exist.

The 412th Maintenance Group (MXG) is responsible to 412th Test Wing (TW) Commander for establishing/evaluating logistics test requirements for all new/or modified weapons systems/subsystems assigned. MXG provides aircraft maintenance, logistics, manufacturing & modification support to test & evaluation programs. Position has the primary function of evaluating quality maintenance.

Typical 2026 salary range: $47,470 - $113,185 Per Year

Areas of Consideration (AOC): Department – wide (DoD)

Desired Skills:

- 7-level equivalent experience (Required)

- Considered Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more airframes (bombers/heavies and F-35 experience are highly desired)

- Previous Quality Assurance Experience (Highly Desired)

Major Duties:

- Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of maintenance operations in meeting established goals and objectives through the performance of inspections and evaluations, such as Quality Verification Inspections (QVI), Personal Evaluations (PE), and Special Inspections (SI) as identified in applicable directives.

- You can be assigned responsible for reviewing engineering dispositions for non-standard repairs to ensure accuracy and necessity. You may also be tasked to perform quality assurance inspections on work performed by depot-level or contractor maintenance personnel.

- You must be able to read, interpret and review locally prepared and contractual technical data for accuracy, intent, and necessity. This can include oversight of Local Work Cards (LWC), Local Checklists (LCL), and Contract Technical Data (CDT).

- Primary Maintenance Support: Depending on mission requirements, the individual could perform duties aligned with one or more of the following distinct specializations:

• Bomber & heavy aircraft: Oversees critical mechanical systems maintenance and conducts rigorous evaluations on assigned bomber and heavy developmental test aircraft.

• F-35: Oversees critical mechanical systems maintenance and conducts rigorous evaluations on F-35 developmental test aircraft, including its specialized low-observable features, advanced landing gear, and utility systems.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Quality Assurance principles and their applications
  • Knowledge in interpreting and applying preliminary, test, and established technical data, guidelines, and checklists
  • Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing)
  • Ability to work in teams
