About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Operations Specialist/SARM (NH-0301-02) to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412 Operations Group, 461 Flight Test Squadron, (461 FLTS/DOOO) at Edwards AFB.
To serve as the Unit's Operations Duty Desk and Aviation Resource Management office single point of contact for the scheduling of airspace, aircraft, ranges, and communications/telemetry frequencies. To act as the liaison for the Combined Test Force providing technical support of all Aviation Resource Management inquiries regarding aircrew training and proficiency.

Desired Skills:
- Regulatory and Publication Proficiency: Demonstrate the ability to interpret, evaluate, and apply Air Force manuals, regulations, publications, and other governing documents to accurately support aircrew training, standardization, evaluation, and test mission requirements.
- Training Documentation and Program Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain, track, and manage training records, grade sheets, standardization/evaluation documentation, and official correspondence. Ability to maintain accurate continuity while adhering to established scheduling requirements, timelines, and mission criteria.
- Critical Analysis and Quality Assurance: Ability to apply critical thinking and technical aptitude to audit aircrew training and qualification records, identify discrepancies or deficiencies and determine appropriate corrective actions in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
Major Duties:
- Aviation Record Keeping and Audits: Review individual flight records concurrently with weekly scheduling planning to verify aircrew possess current physicals, physiological training, ground training, qualifications and flight currencies.
- Continuity Keeping: Serve as one of the key point of continuity within Flight Ops. Provide help in resolving conflicts and maintaining the unit’s focus on achieving the Commander’s intent. Share best practices and insights with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Short-Range & Long-Range Scheduling Test Support: Actively engage in short-term and long-term mission planning by providing insight on current aircrew training and qualifications status to assess mission support capabilities.
- Center Ops On-Line (COOL) Management: Utilize COOL to retrieve, audit, and assign aircrew training data, aircrew evaluations, testing, and training in accordance with the applicable Air Force manuals and publications.
- SARM Collaboration: Work closely with the unit SARM office to ensure all aircrew are current and qualified by verifying critical Go/No-Go items, including currencies, boldface tests, physicals, and Aviation Service Dates.
- Training & STAN/EVAL Application: Assist in getting Aircrew trained, qualified, and available to meet mission requirements. As well as keeping up to date continuity and tracking for currency due dates and qualification deadlines.
- Proactive Policy and Procedure Reviews: Actively review and update flight and test operations policies and procedures. Identify and implement improvements to complex problems, including those that require deviations from standard policies or instructions, that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and compliance. Regularly recommend and apply revisions and new methods to current rules and procedures to streamline operations and reduce errors.
- New Pilot In-Processing: Ensure new pilots have all required training, paperwork, and qualifications completed. Adapt procedures for contractor NRAs, streamlining the process for future use.
- Flight Ops Collaboration: Work closely with scheduling, the ADO, and the DO to ensure seamless coordination of aircrew availability, flight schedules, and test requirements. Support ongoing operational efficiency through proactive communication.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship

- This position requires Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearances as well as possible clearances with special access programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience in the AFTC scheduling process and scheduling of aircraft and aircrew, including the computer-based Center Scheduling Enterprise (CSE) system and Center Ops-Online (COOL). Knowledge of special use and FAA controlled airspace, ranges, and data collection systems.
- Skill in usage of computer system software, equipment, and databases in order to produce a wide range of documents and reports, spreadsheets, and complex formats for graphic displays and detailed spreadsheets..
