About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Electronics Engineer NH-0855-03 to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Electronic Warfare Group, 772nd Test Squadron (772 TS/EWOP) at Edwards Air Force Base.

To perform technical work and professional engineering involved in electronic warfare (EW), survivability and overall mission effectiveness testing and evaluation of air vehicles (manned and unmanned air vehicles, missiles, and hypersonic vehicles),  including their weapon and sensor systems. This involves planning, provisioning, conducting, analyzing and reporting of tests performed using open air ranges (OAR), installed system test facilities (ISTF), system integration laboratories (SIL),  hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulations, measurement facilities (MF) and digital modeling and simulation capabilities.

Location: Edwards, CA (Edwards Air Force Base)

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313 per year (includes Locality)

Travel Requirements: Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) by military or commercial aircraft approximately 60 days per year.

Desired Skills:

- 1 year of experience with Electronic Warfare testing desired.

- 1 year of experience as a project lead desired.

- 1 year of experience writing technical reports desired.

Major Duties:

- Provides test engineering in the area of avionics, armament, sensor and EW systems. These consist of digital and analog processors, cockpit displays and controls, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and operational flight program software.

- Serves to develop and apply appropriate and innovative analysis for the evaluation of data from avionics, sensor, EW and weapons related test of manned and unmanned combat aircraft and missile systems.

- Provides advice, counsel, mentorship and instruction on avionics, armament, sensor, EW, and electronic combat flight and ground test technical matters in areas of experience.

- Requires technical and engineering work to be performed using classified information in various media formats; all appropriate DOD and USAF security requirements must be met.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
  • Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
  • Obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • This is a drug testing designated position.
  • A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution. (Check OPM Qualifications Standard and Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR)).
  • DAWIA Certification.
  • Knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques across multiple interrelated and integrated technical and test engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of combat aircraft avionics, armament, or electronic warfare systems or related systems/subsystems.
  • Knowledge of flight and laboratory air vehicle/missile test conduct, coordination and supervision, data analysis/evaluation and applicable flight test truth sources, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of flight test programs as well as use modern computer software applications in support of communications and presentations.
