About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center (AFTC) is looking for a Full-Time Airfield Management Specialist /Training Manager (NH-2150-02) to work at 412th Test Wing, Air Force Plant 42 (AFMC/412 TW/OL-AFP 42) at Air Force Plant 42 (OSAM) in Palmdale, CA.
Serve as the Airfield Management Training Manager, providing oversight of the training program which includes the development, implementation, supplemental, and overall oversight of the Airfield Management training program in accordance with AFMAN 13-204V1, Management of Airfield Operations, AFMAN 13-204V2, Airfield Management, and DAFI 36-2670, Total Force Development.

Typical 2026 salary range: $ 47,490 to $113,185 per year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: 25%

Desired Skills:
- Minimum one year experience as an airfield operations, air traffic control or similar career pathway training manger
- Three years’ experience via the AF IMT 483 Certificate of Competency or equivalent to drive on and around the airfield.
- Three years’ experience managing, executing and or training employees on the tools required for passive and active wildlife control on and around the airfield environment.
Major Duties:
- Minimum one year experience as an airfield operations, air traffic control or similar career pathway training manger
- Three years’ experience via the AF IMT 483 Certificate of Competency or equivalent to drive on and around the airfield.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
- Knowledge of DoW, Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration, International Civil Aviation Organization rules, and other applicable laws, regulations, instructions, and directives, as they pertain to airfield management, airfield criteria, air traffic control, and aircraft operations.
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources, and to mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
