About the Role:
The 412th Maintenance Group is looking for a Full-Time Structures Training Leader (WL-3806-11) to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412 Maintenance Group, 412 Maintenance Squadron/Fabrication Flight / Sheet Metal/Composite Shop (MXMFS) at Edwards AFB.
To lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full-time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards. (Sheet Metal/Composite work).

Typical 2026 salary range: $112,155 - $130,855 per year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible.

Desired Skills:
- Skilled in the use of manual and automated sheet metal/composite tools and equipment.
- Must be team player, skilled at instruction.
- Willing and able to instruct new and experienced personnel, both military and civilian.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Multiple airframes experience desired.
Major Duties:
- Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers.
- Oversees the implementation of the master formal training plan.
- Plans, lays out, manufactures, modifies and/or repairs a variety of aircraft parts, components and forming aids.
- Trains and leads employees.
- Uses/maintains tools and ensures all safety practices and procedures are followed.
- Update supervisor/s on progress of trainees.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
- Working knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s).
- Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and equipment common to trades and labor work performed by the group being led.
