About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (AEROSPACE) NH-1910-03 to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412 Operations Group, 420 Flight Test Squadron, 420 FLTS/DOOO at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.

In this position you will serve as the Quality Assurance Specialist to establish a planned, systematic approach for quality assurance to provide adequate confidence that products or equipment will conform to contract requirements throughout its life cycle. To ensure supplies and services acquired under Government contracts conform to the contracts quality and quantity requirements. Included are inspections, acceptance, warranty, and other measures associated with quality requirements..

Location: Edwards, Ca Edwards Air Force Base, CA

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313 per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:

- Demonstrated knowledge of standard contracting regulations, quality assurance requirements, and established procurement procedures.

- Ability to perform inspections using industry‑standard test methods and precision measurement tools such as scales, micrometers, and comparators.

- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and the application of statistical sampling methodologies to evaluate product or service quality.

- Extensive experience conducting surveillance and compliance assessments to ensure contractors meet all contractual quality and performance requirements.

- In‑depth familiarity with aircraft maintenance practices, operational procedures, and ground support activities.

Major Duties:

-- Performs as the Quality Program Manager and Government Ground Representative in one or more contractor and/or government facilities on contracts involving acquisition of complex high value major weapons systems vital to National Security and/or support services contracts.

- Develops and establishes a system utilized to audit and evaluate contractor Quality Management Systems, aircraft maintenance and ground operations.

- Reviews contract documents for purposes of producing a Quality Program Manager's Plan, which establishes contract quality surveillance activity requirements, assuring contractors' compliance with all contractual provisions relating to product/service quality.

- Plans, develops, organizes, administers, evaluates, and coordinates comprehensive acquisition Quality Assurance and Government Ground Representative programs.

- Ensures that contractors meet their responsibilities for product quality in the areas of procurement and acquisition for a complex product area. i.e., product within an aircraft or mobile ground equipment maintenance and rework facility, or other similar types of facilities.

  • Obtain & maintain Top Secret Clearance and a single scope background investigation current within five years at time of selection. Member must be able to maintain access to special access programs as required.
