About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Electronics Technician (NJ-0856-03) to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412th Test Engineering Group, 412th Range Squadron, Engineering Flight Technicians (412 RANS/ENRET) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
The mission of the Engineering Flight within the 412th Range Squadron is to provide sustainment for all Range Squadron systems that support the Test & Evaluation programs at the Air Force Test Center, Edwards AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support for various Range capabilities. These capabilities include, but are not limited to, mission control rooms with all supporting sub-systems, mission voice communications, video, GPS, timing, and network infrastructures. This position resides within the 412th Range Engineering Flight, but duties may include working with other organizations within or outside Edwards AFB.

Typical 2026 salary range: $71,957 - $113,185 per year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% Travel Possible.

Desired Skills:
- 2 years of experience leading teams desired.
- 2 years of electronics troubleshooting and repair desired.
- Knowledge and experience with Advantor systems desired
Major Duties:
- Leads or participates in site preparation and layout, identification of power and hardware requirements for equipment installations.
- lnstallation/integration of equipment including anchoring of equipment racks and consoles.
- Installation of cable trays and running of cables (coaxial, fiber, and network) under raised floors and above ceilings, termination of coaxial (N, TNC, BNC, & SMA types), fiber (ST, SC, & LC), and network (CAT 5 & 6) connectors in mission control rooms and other external sites as needed.
- Trouble shoots/tests, analyzing results and diagnosing faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and subsystems.
- Evaluates and recommends appropriate types of hardware for practical application on specific equipment/system installations in a variety of different environments.
- Works independently with computer software applications and Computer Aided Design (CAD) generated drawings, including wiring and cable diagrams, rack elevations and floor plans.
- Redlining of drawings and following instructions from engineers/technical leads.
- Participates in planning meetings and provides installation solutions, costs, and schedules.
- Practices disciplined Configuration Management to ensure efficient transition and turnover of systems to Range customers. Adheres to all DoD, USAF and AFTC standards, instructions, and policies.

- Professional knowledge of concepts and principles of mechanical and electronic hardware. Working knowledge of the basic tenets and techniques of electronics engineering, including advanced troubleshooting methodology and operation of test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
- ln-depth knowledge of electronic design, development, integration, installation, testing, troubleshooting, validation, maintenance, and operational support of Range systems and subsystems.
- Ability to plan/organize tasks and coordinate technical efforts with engineers, technicians, support contractors and operational organizations. Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with personnel and maintain a safety-conscious attitude in all work environments.
- Ability to read, follow, and implement computer-aided design two-dimensional engineering drawing packages used in equipment and subsystem installations.
