About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Budget Analyst (NH-0560-02) to work at the 412th Security Forces Squadron S4, AFMC at Edwards AFB, CA.
To serve as the senior resource advisor for the Security Forces Squadron. Provides support to financial decision makers and performs a variety of financial management functions involving the planning, programming, formulation, justification, execution, analysis of budgets and economic for substantive AF programs as part of the 412th Security Forces Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base. Services include financial management advisory service, financial services, budget operations and resource management systems.

Typical 2026 salary range $47,490 - $113,185 per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
- At least 1 year experience in collecting information from various sources to develop budgets and forecasts for small organizations
- At least 1 year experience working with spreadsheets, financial software, and/or data visualization tools
- At least 1 year experience collaborating in a team environment
Major Duties:
-Performs budget formulation work involving preparation and detailed analyses of annual and/or multi-year budget estimates for assigned organizations/programs into a consolidated budget request.
- Reviews organizational historical data and/or matches funding requests or projected costs of 'selected line items with past records to determine trends in spending and to forecast annual funding needs.
- Performs recurring budget execution and administration work involving the monitoring obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of a budget with different sources and types of funding, such as direct and reimbursable annual, multi-year, and no-year appropriations, apportionment, allotments, refunds, etc.
- Accomplishes tasks in time to meet or exceed OSD monthly and end of year execution rate and contributes to the effective and efficient use of funds to meet project/program objectives.
- Performs assigned budget execution tasks to meet the needs of organization(s) at all operational levels.
- Contributes as a financial management team member and assembles and/or develops background data.
- Provides advice, insight, assistance, and guidance on budgeting and related information.
- Uses automated budgetary, accounting and finance and standard operating software/systems and computer generated products in accomplishing budgeting assignments.
- Obtains and provides information concerning the propriety of using funds for specific purposes by researching appropriate legal and regulatory guides.

- Obtain & maintain Secret Security Clearance
- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification requirements applicable to the career category designated on the position description within 24 months of assignment. This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program if selected and will have 24 months to complete the certification.
- Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods, practices, processes, procedures, regulations, precedents, policies and other guidelines.
- Knowledge of missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources of funding pertinent to Air Force and installation programs/organizations
- Knowledge of sources of factual information about and related to processes of budgeting, such as that found in accounting reports, payroll records, work reports, or inventory and supply data
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to justify, defend, present, and/or advise on budgetary processes/actions.
