About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Munitions Maintenance Mechanic, WG-6501-5T11 to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Maintenance Squadron, Munitions Flight (MXMW) at Edwards AFB, in Edwards, CA.
The primary purpose of this position is: To perform intermediate-level maintenance of munitions, to include related components and equipment; and to participate in the development and validation of new maintenance/inspection procedures.

Typical 2026 salary range: $31.68 - $57.00 per hour (includes Locality)
Areas of Consideration (AOC): Installation - wide (Edwards Air Force Base)
Desired Skills:
- 2 years of experience in warehouse environment desired
- 2 years of experience working with Word, Excel, etc.
- Collaborating with supervisors, logistics staff, and other flight personnel
Major Duties:
- Assists with receiving, storing, handling, transporting, unloading and unpacking munitions.
- Assists with maintaining storage facilities. Adheres to instructions given regarding nonnuclear safety and security rules and practices.
- Assists with reconditioning of munitions and handling equipment. Assists with the repair and replacement of defective or missing parts.
- Assists with munitions inventories, operates Automated Data Processing Equipment to process munitions transactions and assists with custody account support.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
- Knowledge of basic principles of the classified titled or related field.
- Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
- Ability to learn basic techniques of the classified title.
- Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
- Ability to plan and organize work, and consult effectively with co-workers.
