About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory Plans Programs and Operations Specialist (NH-0301-04) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Maintenance Operations Flight, (412 MXG/MXO) at Edwards Air Force Base.

The Plans Programs and Operations Supervisor (MXO) is responsible for logistics support operations to include Facility Management, Resource Management, Unit Readiness, Security, Database Management, Maintenance Training, Manpower Management, Process Improvement, Innovation, Maintenance Operations and Plans, Scheduling and Documentation.

Typical 2026 salary range: $146,632-$197,200 per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:

- 5 years of experience as 1st or 2nd level supervisor desired

- Experience with Facility Management and Contracts desired

- Experience with Manpower and Manpower documents desired

- Experience with MRTFB, RBA, Statement of Capabilities and Cost and Resource Estimates desired

- Experience with Combined Test Forces and Logistics requirements desired

- Experience with Mx Operations (Scheduling, Analysis and Command and Control) desired

Major Duties:

- Responsible to the Commander, 412 MXG to provide internal long-term planning, provisioning, programs, and operations support for all test and evaluation programs, aircraft maintenance, manufacturing, special instrumentation, and aircraft modification.

- Responsible areas include manpower, aircraft, supplies, support equipment, technical data, training and training support, information technology, facilities, storage, transportation, and environmental management.

- Responsible for the overall management and supervision of 412 MXG maintenance scheduling, analysis, education, training and developmental resource management for military and civilian personnel.

- Provides management and supervision for long-term planning and test program support, facility requirements and planning for the 412 TW to include facility utilization, modification, maintenance.

- Interfaces with TW, AFTC, HQ AFMC, DoD customers and civilian agencies to define general logistics support requirements and to implement policies and methodologies developed for logistics business planning.

- Provides the MXG commander a high degree of management oversight, technical background and guidance in planning for the logistics support of all test and evaluation programs and the development of investment strategies and new business opportunities to support future requirements.

- Coordinates with Operations group, Combined Test Forces, contractor managers and other agencies to establish and implement flying and maintenance schedules.

- Manages the overall real time coordination and integration of maintenance resources, schedules maintenance actions for test projects originating and/or operating within the jurisdiction of the 412 TW.

- Provides oversight of non-real property assigned to 350 facilities located throughout the 412 TW. Determines adequacy of existing capability to support test requirements and ensures organizational site support needs are provided by responsible base support functions. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position
  • Knowledge of Air Force activities and requirements, and comprehensive knowledge of flight test resources, processes and requirements necessary to provide appropriate support to a wide variety of flight test and business management concepts.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance requirements and processes, logistics management principles, test and evaluation requirements and processes, facility management, manpower management, civilian personnel management requirements and process and continuous process improvement concepts and procedures.
  • Skills to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of facility and aircraft maintenance management.
  • Ability to stratify resources against approved programs; to plan, present, and execute budgets; to analyze budget impacts on programs; and to forecast long-term funding requirements. Ability to gather, analyze, organize and present data and supporting analyses.
