About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory NH-04 Flight Director (Interdisciplinary: NH-1550-04, NH-1515-04, NH-0801-04, NH-0854-04, NH-0855-04) to work at the 48 Cyberspace Test Squadron’s Cyber Labs and Test Support Flight (48 CTS/TGED) at Eglin AFB, Florida.

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the supervisor providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over supervisory and nonsupervisory employees assigned to the 48 Cyberspace Test Squadron. Responsible for performing professional scientific and management work in support of projects/programs pertaining to supporting the development of Department of Defense (DOD) and commercial Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation (T&E). The flight director’s focus encompasses all cybersecurity test laboratory and test capability development/sustainment activities as well as supporting all of the Squadron’s test execution efforts across all operating locations, to include intelligence support, logistics, software and cyber test tool development, security, system administration, and hardware issuance and receiving.

Typical 2026 salary range: $125,776 - $192,331 Per Year (includes Locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Areas of Consideration (AOC): Department – wide (DoD)

Desired Skills:

- At least 1 year of developmental cybersecurity test execution, developmental cybersecurity test support experience, or software experience. More than just ISSO/ISSM experience

- At least 3 years of team leadership and planning/budgeting experience

- At least 1 year of experience in cyber test laboratory operations and cyber test tool capability development and sustainment

Major Duties:

- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities for Cyber lab and Test Support Flight, to include managing multiple geographically separated members.

- Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the flight, to include ensuring adherence to governing DoD directives and advocating for future needs/growth areas in manpower, budget, and schedule.

- Represents and communicates the 48 CTS test laboratories and capabilities. Leads recommendations for capability investments to 96TW, Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), and other entities to further the development of Cyber Test & Evaluation tools and capabilities to enable more effective and efficient Cybersecurity T&E.

- Augments and collaborates on cybersecurity risk assessments and test processes and methods to guide test capability development.

  • This is an interdisciplinary announcement, and the successful candidate’s education and/or experience will be used to determine the series. An ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field is required.
  • The position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The supervisor must meet or be cable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. The supervisor is expected to meet Continuing Acquisition Education requirements. APDP Level II in Test and Evaluation is required.
  • Professional knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices required to support the following mission areas: Penetration Test and Evaluation. This position requires the attainment of one of the following cybersecurity certifications: Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification. An OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP) is highly desired.
  • A diverse background of experience and knowledge in one or more of the following mission areas: developmental cybersecurity and/or cyber resiliency T&E, cybersecurity penetration testing, Risk Management Framework (RMF), network/system development and integration, aircraft/munitions testing, cybersecurity risk assessment, and the system engineering processes.
  • Knowledge to test and evaluation of complex programs to ensure system cybersecurity requirements, interfaces, and other factors are used to inform test capability development such that they augment a test team’s planning, monitoring, and reviewing of system artifacts and system security engineering plans as part of the test process.
  • Knowledge of cyber penetration testing practices for aircraft and munitions systems and traditional IT systems. Ability to cybersecurity test results and test execution challenges/limitations.
  • Experience in test execution of one or more of the following mission areas: Penetration Testing, Aircraft/Munitions Functional Testing, Cybersecurity Risk Assessment, Software Development, and Embedded System Laboratory Operations.
