About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center (AFTC) is seeking a Full-Time General Engineer (NH-0801-04) to lead the 96th Range Group, 96th Range Support Squadron, Range Targets and Threat Systems Flight (96 RANSS/RNRT) at Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
The purpose of this position is to serve as Flight Chief with responsibilities for managing the Range Targets and Threat Systems Flight within the 96th Range Support Squadron (96 RANSS), 96th Range Group (96 RN), 96 Test Wing, Eglin AFB FL. As the Flight Leader you will be responsible for directing, managing, test support, improvement and modernization of the fixed and mobile target fleet for land and maritime, maritime test support assets, the EW Electronic Combat Range (ECR), the Multi Spectral Test and Training Environment (MSTTE) to include Low Fidelity Threat Emitters (LFTEs), and sUAS Group 1-3 target and test support assets. These capabilites support both weapon/sensor systems test and training activities across the entire Eglin Test and Training Complex (ETTC) and the Eglin Gulf Test and Training Range (EGTTR).

Desired Skills:
Knowledge in applying multidisciplinary engineering principles and advanced theories.
Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures.
Knowledge of development engineering methodologies sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon system testing.
Knowledge of Test and Evaluation processes.
Knowledge of workforce recruitment and development.
Knowledge in acquisition and engineering support of Improvement and Modernization planning and execution.
Major Duties:
Serves as the Flight Chief, responsible for managing the Range Targets and Threat Systems Flight, consisting of 12 civilian and 5 technical support contractors, within the 96th Range Support Squadron (96 RANSS), 96th Range Group (96 RN), 96 Test Wing, Eglin AFB FL.
Serves as the Flight lead, responsible for directing, managing, test support, improvement and modernization of the fixed and mobile target fleet for land and maritime, maritime test support assets, the EW Electronic Combat Range (ECR), the Multi Spectral Test and Training Environment (MSTTE) to include Low Fidelity Threat Emitters (LFTEs), and sUAS Group 1-3 target and test support assets.
Serves as the Flight lead with project management, systems engineering and Test and Evaluation (T&E) expertise to deliver superior test capabilities for ETTC/EGTTR stakeholders.
Leads and supports extensive interactions with other organizations inside and outside the 96th Test Wing enterprise regarding test capabilities, processes, policies, and procedures.
Builds and extends multifunctional coalitions and partnerships to achieve enterprise-wide goals and lead strategic change as the ETTC/EGTTR evolves to become more agile to meet the Range of the Future 2035 vision.
Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principals, practices, standards, methods, and techniques.
Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, and operation of the DoD and Air Force.
Knowledge of and skill in evaluating state-of-the-art and advancements in theory, application, technology, and policy.

- Must have a bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as computer, electronics, or mechanical engineering,
- computer science, or mathematics.
- A master's degree in a technical related field is highly desired.
- Positions designated as an acquisition position: Positions are covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) and the employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
