About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer to work at the 96 TW Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) at Eglin Air Force Base. In the AFSEO (96 TW SK), there are two positions open in the aeroelastic store compatility team in SKC.
96TH TEST WING MISSION: We test and evaluate state-of-the-art weapon systems, provide quality installation and mission support, and serve as responsible stewards of our resources to deliver war-winning capabilities.

Typical 2026 salary range: $88,508 - 138,370 Per Year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: Travel by commercial and/or military aircraft may be required for the purpose of performing temporary duty

Desired Skills:
-4 years of proficiency in scientific and/or high speed computing
-2 year of experience with aeroelasticity or structural dynamics
-2 years of Ground/Flight Test Experience related to aerospace structures
Major Duties:
-Determine requirements, plan, conduct, and/or review analysis and ground/flight testing to determine suitable airspeed for store carriage free of aeroelastic phenomena IAW MIL-STD-8870
-Use, review, revise, and critique aeroelastic models and analytical methods to be able to conduct flutter analysis to assess store carriage and downloads
-Withing budget and schedule constrains, write reports using available data and proscribed methods to recommend a safe and effective carriage airspeed.
-Provide technical assistance as an expert in aeroelastic flutter of aircraft related to store carriage to be able to advise, guide, or provide recommendations to store or aircraft programs in the execution of test, analysis, or flight certification.
-Work with internal and external stakeholders to enable execution of goals of Air Combat Command related to store carriage and usage on aircraft..
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
- Professional Engineering Degree from an ABET
- Obtain & maintain required security clearance
- Possess/Ability to obtain required DAWIA certification within 3 years
- Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to adjust work schedule based on mission requirements
- A degree in Engineering Technology qualifying for this position. Incumbent must possess a professional engineering degree from and accredited school of engineering.
- Knowledge of professional aerospace engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
- Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies..
