As a senior engineer, you will support the AFRCO family of systems, which spans air, terrestrial, and space domains. You will provide expert technical oversight on the design, development, and testing of multi-domain systems, and your expertise will influence senior Department of War and Air Force leaders.

Location: National Capital Region (Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, DC)
Typical 2026 salary range: $107,446 - $139,684 (base pay, locality not included)
Desired Qualifications, Expertise, and Skills:
- - Education: Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant Science or Engineering field.
- - Experience: Experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent).
- - Knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering principles, development methodologies, and systems engineering practices.
- - Experience in acquisition planning and engineering support.
- - Ability to evaluate design criteria, assess new technology, and recommend innovative solutions.
- - Minimum 4 years of engineering experience and previous experience with Special Access Programs (desired).
Major Duties:
- Advising senior leaders throughout the acquisition cycle with expert engineering guidance.
- Developing and utilizing effective engineering techniques to maintain oversight of acquisition programs.
- Critically evaluating engineering analysis and managing technical risks.
- Enforcing unique engineering disciplines and interfacing with organizations across the air and space communities.
- Investigating and integrating new technologies into the program baseline.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
- DAWIA Engineering and Technical Management Practitioner certification required within a 5-year grace period.
- Position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and may have polygraph requirements.
- Must be willing to travel and handle classified information in accordance with regulations.
