About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center (AFTC) is looking for a Full-Time SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST (NH-0080-04) to work at the 412 TW Information and Protection Directorate, 412 TW/IP, at Edwards Air Force Base.
To serve as the Air Force Test Center (AFTC) Government Special Access Program Security Officer (GSSO) and principal security advisor to the Center and Wing Special Programs Office (CSPO) and AFTC Security Center Senior Functional. Also serves as the Chief, Program Security and Cybersecurity Operations for the 412 Test Wing Information Protection Office (IPO).

Typical 2026 salary range: $146,632 - $197,200 per year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: 45 days per year

Desired Skills:
• 5-7 years of Special Access Program (SAP) security management, inspection and SAP acquisition security experience desired
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and personnel management experience of multi-disciplined security teams desired
• 5 years of acquisition test security, program and technology protection and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 physical security construction and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) Site Security Manager (SSM) experience desired
Major Duties:
- Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time
- Serve as the principal security advisor to the Assistant to the Commander for Special Programs (ACSP) and the Center/Wing Special Programs Office
- Lead planning, organization, and execution of SAP and SCI security management support for the Center/Wing Special Programs Office and Information Protection Office.
- Develop, prioritize, and drive Information Protection Directorate performance goals and mission objectives.
- Oversee and administer all SAP and information security programs through supervisory leadership of subordinate staff.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain effective working relationships with government and industry partners.
- Collaborate across multiple units and organizations to ensure unified and integrated security operations.
- Engage regularly with Wing, Center and Command level senior leaders, including officials at the O7 level and above.
- Provides organizational senior leadership with security management solutions for short and long term organization business, financial, manpower, and operational planning, and manages cost, schedule and performance of security activities
- Identifies and validates mission security needs through evaluation or development of security elements of applicable program
- Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various AFTC organizations
- Evaluates and develops Request for Proposal (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), CDRLs, Source Selection Criteria and Standards, and Proposal Evaluation
- Identifies and evaluates security threats and vulnerabilities and provide program management with options and resource requirements for mitigating the risk(s).

- Position is designated critical-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
- Employee needs to obtain and maintain approval to access the portfolio of Special Access Programs required to perform daily duties.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours.
- This position is designated national security position.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/OCS) or their delegated security career field representative.
- Mastery of Acquisition security, traditional Information Protection disciplines, Special Access Program Security, Antitamper, certification and accreditation of embedded and test systems principles and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.and implementation and compliance requirements of security programs in and related to these areas.
- Expertise in security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs for collateral, SCI, and SAP environments.
- Extensive knowledge of an organization's missions, functions, and structure to ensure effective implementation and oversight of security concepts.
- Expertise in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the Directorate and program customers.
- Knowledge of government and industrial base security organization, operations, and management practices.
- Knowledge of engineering, contracting, logistics and other functional concepts, programs, procedures, and practices.
