About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Secretary (Office Automation)SECRETARY (NK-0318-02) to work at the 96 TW, 96 MSG, 96 SFS/CSS at Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
To serve as the principal office assistant performing various administrative and clerical duties in support of the organization. Performs office automation support using multiple automated programs and software such as databases, spreadsheets, and graphics in support of the administrative and clerical work. The position is located in a multi-layered organization, with subordinate groups which differ from each other in terms of subject matter, functions, relationships with other organizations, and administrative requirements. There is a system of formal internal procedures and administrative controls, formal coordination among subordinate units, and a formal progress reporting system which is sufficiently complex to require continuous attention on the part of the secretary.

Typical 2026 salary range: $40,736 - $65,600 per year (includes Locality)

Major Duties:
• Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources.
• Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports and other materials submitted for the Commander's signature.
• Receives telephone calls, greets visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, screening those that can be handled without supervisor's help.
• Maintains supervisor's calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences including those involving staff from outside the immediate office.
• Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization.
• Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance (if applicable)
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position (if applicable)
- The incumbent must have the ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs..
