About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory General Engineer (NH-0801-04) to work at the 704th Test Support Squadron, serving as the Civilian Leader Squadron Director (704 TSS/CL) at Holloman AFB, New Mexico.
We test and evaluate state-of-the-art weapon systems, provide quality installation and mission support, and serve as responsible stewards of our resources to deliver war-winning capabilities.

Typical 2026 salary range: $125,776 - $192,331 per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
- 4 years of experience with the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process including POM and Financial Planning
- 4 years of experience working on improvement and modernization (I&M) programs, including the Test Investment Planning Programming (TIPP) and/or Central Test and Evaluation Investment Program (CTEIP)
- 4 years of experience in Test and Evaluation, Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Program Management highly desirable
Major Duties:
- Serves as the Squadron Director (Civilian Leader) responsible for enabling 704th Test Group (704 TG) mission areas with Developmental Test & Evaluation of weapons systems
- Oversees the squadron’s support services, including acquisition support packages, civil engineering activities, IT infrastructure and cyber security functions, material handling and equipment control, human resource activities, public release and STINFO products, and STEM activities
- Provide fiscal management into the 704 TG’s financial planning, including oversight of the Group’s RDT&E Baseline Budget and Facility Sustainment, Restoration & Modernization (FSRM) funding
- Develops long-term goals and objectives that are in alignment with the 704 TG and serves on special wing/interagency committees, working groups, and boards
- Provides technical rigor in evaluating current and future workload, test & evaluation infrastructure and capability investment programs, and allocation of technical and scientific resources
- Participates in employee and labor management matters with host-wing Civilian Personnel Office, Employee Relations Management, and Labor Relations Officer
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period

- Obtain & maintain Top Secret security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution in engineering or a closely related field is required; master’s level engineering degree highly desired
- T&E Practitioner (fka T&E Level-III) DAWIA Certification is required within 48 months of assignment
- Employee must file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450); employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station, up to 25% travel possible
- Knowledge of DoD and Air Force mission, organizational structure, and organizations that govern systems acquisition and developmental test and evaluation (DT&E)
- Skills in evaluating advancements in critical aspects of development, production, sustainment, test, and/or support of systems, subsystems, or equipment
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors
