About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for two Full-Time Secretaries (NK-0318-02) to work at the 412 Test Wing, Electronic Warfare Group, 772 Test Squadron (772TS/CCQ) and 771 Test Squadron (771TS/CCQ) at Edwards Air Force Base at Edwards, CA.        

Provide administrative clerical support for the Squadron Commander/Director. Serve as the principal office administrative assistant performing various clerical and administrative duties in support of the organization when guidelines are not specific and not directly applicable to employee assignments. Perform office automation support using multiple automated programs and software such as databases, spreadsheets, and graphics in support of administrative and clerical work.

Typical 2026 salary range: $47,490 - $76,476 per year (includes Locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 30 days

Major Duties:

-Prepare a wide variety or recurring and nonrecurring correspondence reports and other documents and reviews and finalizes correspondence/documents prepared by others in handwritten or electronic drafts.

-Review and process incoming and outgoing correspondent, materials, publications, regulations, and directives and identify what needs to be brought to the attention of the supervisor, referred to appropriate staff, rerouted to other organizations/offices, or handled personally.

-Receive telephone calls, greet visitors, and ascertain the nature of the calls or visits and refer telephone calls and visitors to appropriate staff or office based upon knowledge of the organization, programs, or operations.

-Maintain supervisor's calendar, coordinate meeting arrangements, and schedule meetings and/or conferences without prior approval in accordance with supervisor's policies and priorities, and coordinate with the supervisor as necessary based on information provided by supervisor makes necessary arrangements such as location, time, contacting participants, and ensuring all required materials and services are provided.

-Perform other administrative and clerical work in support of the office/organization.

-Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain & maintain Security clearance (if applicable)

- This is a designated Drug Testing Position (if applicable)

- Education requirements (Check OPM Qualifications Standard and Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR))

- DAWIA Certification

- Must have knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to secretarial and clerical assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, locating and assembling information for various reports, maintain files/records, and making and preparing travel arrangements.

- Must have knowledge of office functions to screen telephone calls and visitors, maintain supervisor's calendar, prepare and review correspondence, and perform other substantive or administrative work of the organization.

- Must have knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
