About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Engineer Technician (NJ-0802-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Civil Engineer Group, 412th Civil Engineer Squadron, Operations Engineering Flight, Requirements and Optimization Element (412 CES/CEOE) at Edwards Air Force Base.
The 412th CES Operations Engineering Flight is responsible for the life-cycle portion of the operations, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure. The Flight integrates/synchronizes workforce matters, ensuring optimal resource decisions are made/executed across CES activities; ensures data/knowledge across all shops are applied to the Activity Management investment plans. The Engineer Technician provides programming and base development technical engineering support performing difficult and complex tasks for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects of real property facilities including utility systems at Edwards AFB.

Typical 2026 salary range: $71,957 -$113,185 per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
- 3 years managing preventative maintenance program.

Major Duties:
- Assigned as sub-amp manager supporting shop requirements and program managing.
- Manages assigned shop preventative maintenance program.
- Conducts facility condition assessment and enters all data in SMS.
- Reviews engineering assigned work task using NexGen IT
- Manages assigned projects construction, replacing or repairing facility requirements (Electrical)
- Delivers presentations on programs status to leadership, including accomplishments, solutions, and future requirements for support..
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- General and practical knowledge of engineering concepts, methods, principles, practices, and techniques; familiarity with engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, utilities, etc)
- Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control, and budget systems; work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds; automated data processing system capabilities and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions
- Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles and surveying methods, equipment, and techniques of measurements to identify project requirements
- Ability to plan and record site/facility surveys and inspections
- Capability for troubleshooting electrical systems or equipment; and provide a recommendation for replacement or repairs
- Must have a valid drivers’ license
- Exercise support may be required
- Over Time work may be required
