About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time IT Specialist (Systems Administration) (NH-2210-03) to work at the 96th Communications Squadron (SCOO) at Eglin Air Force Base.
In this position you will deliver first-class "COMM" to advance Team Eglin's warfighting capabilities. The primary purpose of this position is: Subject Matter Expert assigned to the 96 CS Network Operations. Responsible for performing professional cyber networking infrastructure planning, maintenance and installation support of 96th Test Wing and Team Eglin units.

Typical 2025 salary range: $89,508-$138,370 per year (includes Locality)
Desired Skills:
- 5+ years of professional DoD systems administration experience desired
- 5+ years of Windows Server administration desired
- 5+ years of virtualization, large-scale storage, and backup platforms/applications experience desired
Major Duties:
- Oversees the daily administration of base data center infrastructure.
- Manages assigned servers, manages installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensures system integrity is not compromised by following all regulatory guidance and instructions.
- Continually surveys system operation to identify and anticipate potential problems which could lead to loss or serious interruption of service. Identifies corrective or preventative procedures and takes actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences.
- Participates in strategic planning improvement meetings and leads/participates in projects improving the quality and optimization of services provided.
- Delivers presentations and project updates to leadership including, accomplishments, solutions, and future requirements for support.
- Provides technical guidance and instruction to users and other IT specialists on policies, processes, and techniques.
- Makes recommendations to leadership regarding reprioritization of resources to support cyber, IT, or IM needs and enhancements.
- Applies innovative techniques and seasoned judgment to assist management in identifying areas where IT Systems can reduce or eliminate labor and time intensive manual processes.
- Develops standard procedures for account establishment, system maintenance, and system recovery.
- Tests and evaluates current and proposed equipment and software enhancement and advises management regarding acquisition proposals designed to enhance mission accomplishment through automation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Top Secret Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be qualified in accordance with DoDD 8140.01, DoDI 8140.02, and DoDM 8140.03.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Knowledge of server operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers.
- Ability to apply methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance.
