About the Role:

Full Time / 37347 / WG-5378-10 / Powered Support Systems Mechanic / 96 TW / 96 CEG / 796CES / CEOFP / EGLIN AFB, FL.

 

The primary purpose of this position is to install, operate, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical power production equipment and associated  components, electrical distribution equipment, engines, and aircraft arresting systems.

Announcement Length/Closes: 30 DAYS

Location: Eglin AFB, Florida

Typical 2025 salary range: $68,328 to $79,869 per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:

Requesting experienced and highly motivated technician.

Possess understanding of both AC and DC electrical systems.

Completion of or experience with operating and maintaining Aircraft Arresting Systems.

 

Major Duties:

Install, inspect, maintain, operate, and repair electrical generators and aircraft arresting systems. Inspect and check equipment installed by contractor to determine contract compliance.

Repair and replace components such as generator controls, engine control modules, circuit boards, starter motors, batteries, and lubrication, fuel, intake and exhaust systems. Operate a variety of automatic transfer switches, automated switch gear, and power distribution panels. Change fuel, oil, air filters, belts, and lube oil.

Schedule maintenance and testing inspections with customers.

Troubleshoot electrical power support systems such as electrical generating plants and automatic transfer switches of various design and manufacture. Analyzes and interprets blueprints, wiring schematics, control panel diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer's manuals. Troubleshoot complex repair situations involving electrical control circuits, locate shorts, and inspect wiring using variety of test equipment and tools. Maintain, inspect, repair, diagnose, remove and replace aircraft arresting systems.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

This is a designated random Drug Testing Position.

Must be able to pass a preemployment physical.

Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.

Must have a valid drivers license. Emergency overtime/shift work may be required.
