About the Role:
Full Time / 9W086/ 5716-WG-08 / Engineering Heavy Equipment Operator/ 96 TW / 96 CEG / 796CES / CEORM / EGLIN AFB, FL
Primary purpose of this position, Operates equipment, graders, tractors, front-end loaders, etc. performing functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, rolling earth, sand, stone, and other material. This position requires operators to operate tractor and trailer combinations to transport heavy equipment across state and county roads. A current/valid CLASS ‘A’ CDL license is required by law to operate combination vehicles over 26,000 lbs with a towed unit that weighs over 10,000 lbs “gross vehicle weight” for the position.

Typical 2025 salary range: $60,236.80 - $70,262.40 per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
Looking for a team player who works well with others, is self-motivated, and is willing to learn. Advanced knowledge as a Heavy Equipment Operator is required. A current/valid class A CDL required.
Major Duties:
-Operates equipment, graders, tractors, front-end loaders, etc.
-Performs functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, rolling earth, sand, stone, and other material.
-Repair subsurface for roads, parking area's, sidewalks.
-Place and repair concrete and asphalt on roadways, sidewalks, parking area's.
-Flight line maintenance to include daily inspections, flexible pavement repair, vegetation management.
-This position requires operators to operate tractor and trailer combinations to transport heavy equipment across state and county roads.
-A current/valid CLASS ‘A’ CDL license is required by law to operate combination vehicles over 26,000 lbs with a towed unit that weighs over 10,000 lbs “gross vehicle weight” for the position.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Designated drug testing position
- Must be able to pass a preemployment physical
- Overtime maybe required
- Class A CDL
