About the Role:
Full Time / 35523 / 4749-WG-09 / Maintenance Mechanic / 96 TW / 96 CEG / 797CES / CEORM / EGLIN AFB, FL
Primary purpose of this position is to perform in various trades and crafts including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and some minor HVAC.
Announcement Length/Closes: 30 days
Location: Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
Typical 2025 salary range: $64,521.60 TO $75,233.60 per year (includes Locality)
Areas of Consideration (AOC): Department – wide (DoD)
Desired Skills:
Looking for a team player who works well with others, is self-motivated, organized, and is willing to learn. Experienced in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and minor HVAC preferred.
Major Duties:
- Performs minor construction and repair on existing structures
- Maintains and repairs installed electrical systems such as light fixtures, power fixtures, power sources, and battery backup emergency systems
- Makes repairs to plumbing by removing, cleaning, replacing, packing, and sealing defective parts of utility, supply, and disposal systems
- Performs routine maintenance on heating, refrigeration, and A/C units
- Utilizes safety practices and procedures
- Uses and maintains tools and equipment
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Designated drug testing position
- Must be able to pass a preemployment physical
- Knowledge of Carpentry
- Knowledge of standard plumbing
- Ability to install, repair, and maintain various electrical positions
- Skill in performing routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems
