About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory Computer Scientist (NH-1550-04) to work at the 96 Test Wing in 96th Communications Squadron, 96 CS/SCOI at Eglin Air Force Base.
In this position you will serve as second level supervisor and managerial authority over 96 CS/SCOI, Network Infrastructure. Responsible for performing professional scientific and management work in all areas of squadron network infrastructure operations in support of 96th Test Wing and Team Eglin units.

Typical 2026 salary range: $125,776 – $192,331per year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
- Over 15 years of experience in designing, installing, maintaining, and sustaining large-scale network environments, including Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs).
- Over 10 years of supervisory experience leading large teams of 15+ people, with a proven track record of effective team management and leadership.
- Over 5 years of experience in strategic planning, aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, and successfully implementing those plans into operational reality, driving business growth and improvement
Major Duties:
- Supervise staff: Leads and manages a team of IT professionals to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Plan unit: Develops and implements strategic plans and goals for the IT unit to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Apply computer science: Applies expert knowledge of computer science principles and methodologies to design and develop innovative IT solutions.
- Collaborate: Collaborates with cross-functional teams across Team Eglin to share resources, expertise, and best practices to achieve mission success.
- Develop plans: Develops and implements comprehensive IT plans and strategies to align with business objectives and drive organizational success.
- Manage resources: Manages and allocates IT resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure effective and efficient use.
- Provide expertise: Provides technical expertise and guidance to IT staff and stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues and improve IT operations.
- Drive innovation: Drives innovation and improvement in IT operations, including the development and implementation of new technologies and processes.
- Coordinate projects: Coordinates and directs complex IT projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Analyze problems: Analyzes and resolves complex technical problems and issues, providing effective and efficient solutions to ensure minimal downtime and optimal IT operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Top Secret security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree is required.
- Must obtain and maintain IA Management (IAM) Level I certification
- Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of computer science, and knowledge of other technical disciplines to apply advanced computer software, software systems and computer hardware architectural theories, principles and concepts to new applications, experimental theories, and other areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources
