About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time General Engineer to work at the 412TW, Electronic Warfare Group, 445 Test Squadron (412EWG/445TS) at Edwards Air Force Base.

The primary purpose is apply technical work and professional engineering to modeling and simulation systems that support developmental and operational test and evaluation (DT&E and OT&E) test programs. These systems consist of computer networks, system integration laboratories (SIL), and/or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) facilities integrating digital and analog processors, cockpit displays and controls, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and operational flight program software. The software includes algorithms for navigation, ordnance targeting/delivery, flight controls, energy & propulsion management, communications, sensor imaging, and target locations and identification.

Location: Edwards, CA

Typical 2025 salary range: $104,349 to $161,313 per year (including locality pay)

 

Travel Requirements: Up to 60 days

Desired Skills:

- 2 years of avionics, electronic warfare, and/or mission systems flight test experience desired.

- Experience with writing test plans, executing missions in a control room, analyzing data, writing reports, and briefing results desired

Major Duties:

Assures an integrated approach to modeling and simulation activities applied to test.

Participates in, and assures integrated test program support for design reviews, Test Plan Working Groups (TPWG), and other test planning activities.

This position serves to develop and apply appropriate and innovative modeling and simulation techniques for the evaluation of test.

This position develops, prioritizes and reports on organization performance goals and objectives

As a project leader and technical expert, project performance is evaluated and tracked.

Team building will be employed to provide an integrated evaluation of the weapon system under test, continuous improvement in the evaluation process, and best response to the needs of the customer.

-Must have knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques across multiple interrelated and integrated technical and test engineering disciplines.

- Must have knowledge of combat aircraft avionics, armament, or electronic warfare systems or related systems/subsystems.

- Must have knowledge of flight and laboratory air vehicle/missile test conduct, coordination and supervision, data analysis/evaluation and applicable flight test truth sources, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of flight test programs.
