About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time IT Specialist (NH-2210-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Test Engineering Group, 412th Range Squadron, Program Support Flight (412 RANS/ENRP) at Edwards Air Force Base.
The mission of the Program Support Flight is to serve as the primary point of contact to the customer for all Range Squadron mission control room (MCR) and test program data support. The flight is responsible for managing Range Squadron test project support estimates and accomplishing long range and short range project support planning. The flight also accomplishes real-time and post-flight data processing support at various facilities. The primary job of the MCR Specialists is to provide pre- and post-flight as well as real-time support to test operations personnel using Range Squadron mission control room and data production resources.

Typical 2025 salary range: $103,316 - $159,716 per year (includes locality)

Major Duties:
• Develops operational procedures, maintains, and manages multiple real-time data acquisition, display, and processing ground stations to convert telemetered and recorded aircraft data to intermediate data for display and conversion, and to engineering unit data used in second generation processing and analysis systems. Assures timely and effective flow of data through the real-time systems and performs calibration and performance checkout of the acquisition and processing, communication, time-space positioning and other systems used during real-time and post-flight test support operations. Identifies new test customer requests for Range data products and facilitates data production with necessary Range offices.
• Programs various computer systems to acquire, reduce, display, and record telemetered ground and flight data for pre-mission and system checkout according to mission requirements. Performs calibration and checkout of the processing equipment in accordance with established procedures and techniques. Monitors the operation of the systems during real-time mission support operations to insure that the systems function properly.
• Provides technical direction to other Range Squadron operations personnel, providing information and training on the operation and theory of the multiple real-lime and post-flight processing, telemetry pre-processing, audio, and video communication, encryption, and other data acquisition support systems.

• This is an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program. The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art real-time and post-flight telemetry systems and related hardware and software and its application to the support of weapon system test and evaluation.
• Knowledge of computer system operation and programming using high level command and scripting languages as well as programming languages (e.g., Java, C and C++)and operating systems (e.g., MS Windows, Linux and VMS).
• Knowledge of airborne instrumentation equipment, its application and signal conditioning requirements and its usage. ln-depth understanding of pulse code modulation signal processing theory and application.
• Ability to effectively interact in a team environment consisting of engineers, technicians, and management personnel.
