About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Materials Handler (Tools and Parts Attendant), WG-6907-06 position to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Maintenance Squadron/Munitions Flight (MXMW) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
In this position you will perform administrative and technical work in support of aircraft maintenance in the organizational Material and Services Support Section. Operating a HazMat Pharmacy and Tool Room; to control CTK's, T.O's, Bench Stock, HazMat, CA/CRL, TMDE, Vehicles (VCO) and Production Control. Support T2-Modification work in acquiring unique materials, parts and chemicals.

Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of documentation requirements pertaining to repair, calibration, and servicing of tools and parts, to assure proper repairs, calibration, and servicing, or disposal of items not feasibly repaired, calibrated, or serviced.
- Knowledge of tools and parts to be able to identify tools and parts from drawings, specifications, and stated requirements of shop employees.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of Local, State, and Federal environmental rules, regulations, and statutes that are pertinent to the issues being worked.
- Knowledge of and skill in inventory procedures to be able to manage stock control and project future requirements.
- Ability to provide status of stock information to supervisor or responsible supply personnel when required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
Major Duties:
- Performs a complete range of standard receiving, storage, and issuing of assigned stock, tools, tool kits, and/or equipment items.
- Performs inventories using bar code wands, labeling equipment. laser scanning equipment. and/or computer terminals in tracking assigned items.
- Uses hand tools to make minor repairs to tools and service equipment as required. Determines if damaged tools are beyond repair and follows procedures for proper disposal.
- As the sections VCO, is responsible for maintaining the organization's vehicles. May perform as monitor for the CA/CRL, TMDE and NDI accounts.
- Uses automated maintenance and management tracking systems (such as IMDS, TCMAX) in the performance of duties.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
- Ability to receive, store, issues, and inventory HazMat/waste, parts, tools, and/or equipment and maintain records using
- automated and/or mechanized systems without more than normal supervision.
- Good shop work practices, to include setting up and maintaining a neat, well organized, and secure storage area.
- Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. from shop personnel and tools and parts catalogs.
- Ability to inspect tools, parts and equipment for visible damage and make determinations as to feasibility of repair.
