About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Part-Time Position Security Assistant (NK-0086-02) to work at the 96 Test Wing, 96 Range Group, 96 Range Control Squadron, Mission Analysis (RNCOM) at: Eglin Air Force Base, FL.

96TH TEST WING MISSION: We test and evaluate state-of-the-art weapon systems and cyberspace capabilities, provide quality installation and mission support, and serve as responsible stewards of our resources to deliver war-winning capabilities.

The purpose of this position is to maintain access control and perform identification/Physical Security Specialist tasks in support of the 96 Range Group/96 Range Control Squadron.

Typical 2025 salary range: $40,332 - $64,952 per year (includes locality)

Travel Requirements: No travel

Desired Skills:

NK-02

• 1 year of experience in security
• Over 2 years experience with administrative duties
• Over 2 years experience with Microsoft and database applications.

GS-03

• 1-2 years experience with administrative duties

Major Duties:

• Knowledge of basic security processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of a standardized security methods for access/entry control specialist operations, procedures, and terminology to perform access control work independently in a variety of fixed-post and building check assignments.
• Ability to learn organizational procedures sufficient to perform building checks and monitor the identification of persons entering controlled building areas.
• Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and security operations.
• Knowledge of general clerical and office functions and procedures, as well as the basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and standard abbreviations.
• Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing tasks.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Obtain & maintain Security clearance
• This position is part-time.
• Shift work may be required for this position.
• Employee may be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, to include nights, weekends, or holidays.
• Employee may be required to be in an "on-call" status.
• This is a Testing Designated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
• The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as walking and stair climbing. Employees engage in such exertion when climbing office building stairs or walking on foot in accomplishing building checks.
• The work is primarily performed in an office like setting involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms. The employee may be required to wear protective clothing such as coats, boots, and vests during extended periods of building checks in adverse weather conditions.
• Maintain control of personnel access to secure/control areas within the facility, as well, the building complex.
• Performs security check. Ensures required security check area are maintain according to Operational instructions.
• Provides administrative support to ensure efficient secure operations. Maintains facility access entry sign-in and sign-out logs. Enters information into records and updates log books and event logs.
