Aerospace Engineers Published Aug. 7, 2025 Air Force Test Center About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for two (2) Full-Time Aerospace Engineers (NH-0861-03) to work at the 96Test Wing Safety Office (96 TW/SE) at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an aerospace engineer providing test and range safety expertise for investigation and analysis of all aeronautical and mechanical characteristics of ballistic and aerodynamic guided missiles, and munitions which affect test and range safety. Performs work to investigate and analyze aeronautical and mechanical characteristics of ballistic and aerodynamic guided missiles and munitions which affect range safety. Establishes missile and munitions test safety criteria and performs duties of a Range Safety Officer/Range Destruct Officer during the conduct of real-time test and training operations involving employment of armament systems. Determines missile and munition safety criteria for any system tested or launched on the Eglin Test and Training Complex (ETTC) Prepares hazard studies, both statistical and probabilistic, of vehicle launches to evaluate the risk involved during operations. Translates system capabilities into test/range safety criteria and develops solutions to safely test weapons based on system specifications. Performs the duties of a Range Safety Officer/Range Destruct Officer. Formulates destruct or flight termination criteria for missile launches and munitions releases and develops solutions to modify standard practices/processes/techniques to safely test new and changing armament acquisition systems. Expert in the analysis of ballistic and aerodynamic guided missiles and munitions who will liaison with USAF and other DoD agency personnel involved in related studies/work. Qualifications/Requirements: U.S. Citizenship Obtain & maintain Security clearance This is a designated Drug Testing Position Situational Telework eligible Education requirements: Position requires a professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution. Advanced degrees are preferred. DAWIA Certification (T&E Practitioner) Knowledge of professional aerospace engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services for Test and Range Safety. Knowledge of development engineering methodologies for testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment. Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of aerospace vehicles, systems, equipment, and components. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches. Assess the impact of new technology on current systems.
