About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time General Engineer (NH-0801-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Test Engineering Group, 412th Range Squadron, Range Engineering Flight (412 RANS/ENRE) at Edwards Air Force Base.
Develops, prototypes, validates, shares, and standardizes new techniques and tools for test data processing, test data analysis, and modeling and simulation for all disciplines within the Engineering Group. Responsible for meeting personnel requirements (manpower and expertise) for all such projects. Implements all aspects of the squadron mission and provides technical expertise and guidance to other organizations and agencies (both on and off base) in the area of advanced test and evaluation.

Typical 2025 salary range: $103,316 - $159,716 per year (includes locality)

Desired Skills:
- 2 years’ experience in designing and implementing comprehensive IT and system solutions, encompassing hardware, software, and infrastructure components.
- 2 years’ experience in architecting and designing robust, scalable, and secure network systems, considering performance, redundancy, and future growth.
- 2 years’ experience in researching emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to IT and network engineering, with the ability to assess their applicability to specific business challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Major Duties:
- Performs sophisticated engineering test data analyses for flight test programs of unique state-of-the-art aerospace vehicles.
- Develops and maintains engineering test data analysis software tools, utilizing agile development methodologies.
- Coordinates project tasks and milestones effectively with customers, co-workers, and project managers.
- Applies ingenuity and engineering expertise to formulate and develop new data reduction and data management methods and techniques.
- Accomplishes technical coordination of new test projects that require specialized engineering data analysis software.
- Provides engineering expertise and technical guidance to lower-level personnel and serves as a team leader for complex tasks.
- Serves as the organizational authority in the application of resources to best satisfy test program requirements and determines the accuracy of theoretical results.
- Acts as a consultant to test programs, offering technical advice on computing, networking, and data communications for test and evaluation information systems.
- Attends conferences with industry, government, and university representatives to exchange vital technical information.
- Documents the results of technical analyses, draw conclusions, makes recommendations, and maintains extensive knowledge of organizational testing capabilities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance (Top Secret)
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- DAWIA Certification: Test and Evaluation, Practitioner
- Occasional travel/TDY may be required for remote site work, attendance of professional conferences/meetings, training, and participation in professional activities (Range Commanders Council, technical workshops/exchange meetings).
- Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining productive professional relationships with co-workers, customers and leadership possessing widely varying levels of technical/organizational aptitude.
