The Air Force Test Center is looking for a full time General Engineer (NH-0801-03) to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412 Electronic Warfare Group, 445 Test Squadron/EWJO (412TW/412 EWG/445 TS/EWJO) at Edwards Air Force Base, Edwards, CA.

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $101,121 - $156,323 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- 2 years of experience in modern computer operation (Windows/Linux) desired
- 2 years of OT or DT flight test experience desired
- 2 years of demonstrated understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW) concepts desired

- 2 years of scheduling experience desired
Mission
In this position you will perform and apply technical work to modeling and simulation systems that support developmental/operation test and evaluation (DOT&E) test programs and experimentation efforts impacting High End Tactics and Training (HEAT2) efforts throughout the Department of Defense. These systems consist of computer networks, system integration laboratories (SIL), and/or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) facilities integrating digital and analog processors, cockpit displays and controls, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and re-hosted aircraft software. The software includes algorithms for navigation, ordnance targeting/delivery, flight controls, energy & propulsion management, communications, radar and sensor imaging, fire control, targeting and weapons.
Major Duties
- Plans, conducts, evaluates, analyzes, and resolves issues critical to test of new conventional and unconventional aircraft, avionics, or armament systems/ subsystems in a simulation facility
- Define, develop and execute set up of the entire digital battlespace configuration, validate the virtual environment with the customer defined threat laydowns, System Under Test (SUT) configurations, threat configurations, weapon configurations, constructive entity types, constructive entity scripting, test prep, test ops, posttest reconfigurations and data deliveries
- Coordinate with customers to develop test support plans and test procedures, threat lay-downs, battlespace density, data acquisition and data reduction techniques, specify data parameters to be recorded, and formulate data delivery plan for executing and reporting on test objectives
- Provides assistance to senior engineers and electronics technicians and contractor personnel in various phases of test projects
Qualifications/Requirements

• Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
• This is a designated Drug Testing Position
• Education requirements
• Obtain & maintain DAU Level II for Test and Evaluation
• Subject to TDY approximately 30 days per year
• Must have knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques across multiple interrelated and integrated technical and test engineering disciplines
• Must have knowledge of combat aircraft avionics, armament, or electronic warfare systems or related systems/subsystems
• Must have knowledge of flight and laboratory air vehicle/missile test conduct, coordination and supervision, data analysis/evaluation and applicable flight test truth sources, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of flight test programs
