The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory Electronics Engineer (NH-0855-03) to work at the 746th Test Squadron Analysis Element Chief (TGGAE) at Holloman AFB in Alamogordo, NM.

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $86,962 - $134,435 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- At least 5 years of experience in defense and/or test and evaluation desired.
- At least 3 years of experience leading/managing technical projects and/or programs in a physical science or engineering discipline desired.
- Experience with software design and configuration management best practices desired.
- Experience using MATLAB, C++ or Python software desired.
- Prior supervisory experience desired.

Mission/Purpose:
In this position you will serve as the Enterprise Analysis Element Chief for the 746 TS.
The position works closely with the squadron leadership team and interacts regularly with various DoD agencies across all services. This position is the first line supervisor over an element of 5 – 10 government civilian, military and contractor personnel with diverse technical backgrounds and is responsible for planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over the element. He/she will monitor and evaluate activities assigned to subordinates to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with applicable directives, procedures and policies, and establish processes to improve organizational efficiency. Responsibilities require organizational leadership, sound judgment and discretion, knowledge of a varied scope of professional engineering and scientific principles, concepts, methods and practices.

Major Duties:
- In this position you will serve as Squadron’s Enterprise Analysis Element Chief and provide management and analysis support for Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), Navigation Warfare (NavWar) systems and component-level research, development, test and evaluation.
- You will lead a team in the analysis of open-air and laboratory electronic warfare jamming effects on position, navigation and timing systems in support of the squadron’s mission and in accordance with DoD, USAF, AFMC, and higher headquarters’ policies and direction.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
- Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- Evaluates work performance of subordinates.
- Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
- Manages, plans, and organizes assigned projects, programs, and/or acquisitions to meet mission objectives.
- Establishes guidelines and provides technical guidance and oversight for specific projects or programs.
- Assesses program execution and takes appropriate action to adjust resources, change procedures, systems, or policies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Directs a disciplined engineering approach throughout the project lifecycle to monitor development and validation of software analysis tools.
- Reviews, prepares, and presents oral and written reports to the Air Force, DoD and other government agencies.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain and maintain a Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
o NOTE: Applicants who have not yet graduated, or have recently graduated in the past couple years, with just a BS degree are not qualified for NH-03 positions, as NH-03 is not an entry level position!
- DAWIA requirements, Engineering and Technical Management "Practitioner" certification category within required timeframe after appointment
- Travel may be required up to 25% away from the normal duty station via commercial or military aircraft
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of development test and evaluation principles sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
- Professional knowledge of a wide range of engineering and/or operations research analysis concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced theories and scientific methods to project development, execution, and analysis.
- Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for test design and analysis approaches to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and weapon performance evaluations.
