AEDC support aids F-15 in reaching 50-year milestone

A computer-drawn mathematical model shows a Sparrow Air Intercept Missile launch from an F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft. Identical videotape footage of the launch was shot during actual flight testing. This computer simulation was based on numerical data taken during wind tunnel testing by Arnold Engineering Development Complex, headquartered at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. The Air Force recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the F-15’s deployment. Models of the aircraft, engines and other F-15 components, including those of the F-15E, have frequently been tested in AEDC facilities over the past 50 years. (U.S. Air Force photo)
