Defense, Space exploration among the contributions of the Aerodynamics Test Branch

A scale model of the Apollo command and service module is tested in Tunnel B of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex von Kármán Gas Dynamics Facility. The NASA Apollo program succeeded in landing the first humans on the moon in July 1969 when the Apollo 11 crew touched down on the lunar surface.
