EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif -- A contract to build a $1 million shopping center at the Wherry Housing Area at Edwards AFB was left to the Hal B. Hayes construction company.
Six hour workday for eight consecutive days, plus a couple of hours after the contract is signed a new home was ready for occupancy. That wasa the guarantee of 29 year ld home builder Hal B. Hayes. He developed his own system of home building through an innovative mass production system utilizing pre-cast concrete walling. The homes were fully equipped with landscaping lighting, plumbing fixture and shades and screen and paint or paper on all the walls.
