EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif --

Maj Gen David A. Harris, Air Force Test Center commander, approved a policy letter regarding Permanent Change of Station expenses covered by the center. The policy allowed Directors of Staff organizations in the Command and Staff to approve funds to pay for permanent change of station allowances, but required them to verify availability of funds with Financial Management and to obtain the Center commander’s concurrence prior to making any agreements that would obligate funding.

Maj. Gen. David A. Harris was the Commander, Air Force Test Center, headquartered at Edwards Air Force Base, California. He directed a $31 billion enterprise of more than 18,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel across Edwards AFB,California, Eglin AFB, Florida and Arnold AFB, Tenessee. The Air Force Test Center provides developmental test and evaluation of experimental and research manned and unmanned air, space and cyber systems for military services, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency,  National Aeronautics and Space Administration, international partners and the operation of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School.
