About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Electronics Engineer (NH-0855-03) to work at J-Primes in the 782d Test Squadron (782 TS/RNWP) at Eglin Air Force Base.
In this position you will serve as a senior professional electronics engineer with systems engineering responsibility in assigned area(s). Considered the technical expert for the organization in electronics engineering assignments concerning Electro-Optic-Infrared (EO/IR) Test & Evaluation, employee provides technical leadership in planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to define total weapons systems/subsystem requirements, translate requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications. Work encompasses several phases of the development process in which the employee guides and evaluates the design and development activities of others.

Typical 2026 salary range: $89,508 - $138,370 Per Year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

1 Hands-on adaptability to thrive in our unique 'virtual open-air' anechoic chambers, solving complex Radio Frequency (RF) and Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) challenges.
2. An analytical approach to real-time data troubleshooting, coupled with the ability to collaborate directly with a high-impact customer base (Joint Forces, NASA, Commercial).
3. A strategic mindset to drive facility modernization by identifying capability gaps and navigating DoW/AF investment programs (e.g., TIPP, CTEIP) to acquire new test technologies.
Major Duties:
- Performs professional electronics engineering work involved in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to the acquisition, development, or sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment
- Functions as the organization’s technical specialist in developing system performance requirements, objectives and integration, and the estimation of time and resources for system design, development, and support
- Performs complex and comprehensive analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects
- Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period

- Obtain & maintain Top Secret Security clearance

- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution
- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification requirements applicable to the career category designated on the position description within 24 months of assignment or secure an approved waiver. The employee must meet 80 hours of continuous learning requirements within the designated time frame.

- Knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
- Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
- Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices.
