About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory Electronics Engineer (NH-0855-04) to work at the 46th Test Squadron (46 TS/TGBA) at Eglin Air Force Base. Interdisciplinary series include 0801, 0854, and 1550.
In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Engineer and technical authority for a flight dedicated to the Test and Evaluation (T&E) of critical Department of War systems. You will have the responsibility for leading a diverse team of technical experts in the world-class planning, execution, and reporting on a portfolio of projects including C4ISR systems, Battlespace Control, Integrated Base Defense, Radar, Weather Systems, and Crypto Modernization programs.

Typical 2026 salary range: $125,776 to $192,331 Per Year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
4+ years of formal supervisory experience as the official rater; OR 4+ years as a designated lead of a team with documented accountability for major project outcomes, workload distribution, and team development desired.
Experience leading at least one complex technical project through the full Test & Evaluation lifecycle (planning, execution, and reporting) desired.
Technical experience with 2 or more of the following fields: C4ISR, Battlespace Control, Integrated Base Defense (IBDSS), Radar, Crypto Modernization, Aircrew Flight Equipment, Weather Systems, or Control and Reporting Centers (CRC) desired.
Major Duties:
- Exercises first-level supervision, providing planning, direction, and technical oversight for the work of the flight.
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion.
- Develops performance standards, evaluates the work performance of subordinates, and provides regular advice, counsel, and instruction.
- Identifies developmental and training needs of employees and provides or arranges for needed training to foster team growth.
- Interviews and recommends candidates for positions and handles employee relations matters, including hearing complaints and resolving conflicts.
- Performs professional, senior-level engineering work, applying advanced theories and principles to solve complex technical problems.
- Directs significant and complex technical projects, ensuring they remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, and performance criteria.
- Develops goals and objectives for the unit, ensuring the organization's strategic plan, mission, and vision are communicated and integrated into the team's work.
- Represents the organization and establishes effective working relationships with other base units, senior leadership, DoD agencies, and customers.
- Meets with key stakeholders to assess customer satisfaction, explain organizational policy, and resolve significant problems that arise.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI.

- Education Requirements: This position has a positive education requirement. A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET-accredited institution is required. Please see the OPM qualifications standard for the GS-0800 series for full details on education and equivalency.
- DAWIA Certification: This is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position. The incumbent must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements for the Test & Evaluation (T&E) functional area.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of professional electronics engineering, and knowledge of other engineering disciplines to effectively apply advanced engineering principles and concepts to new applications, experimental theories, and other areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
