About the Role:
This position is within the Advanced Test and Training Systems Flight in the 96th Test Systems Squadron. The 96th Test Systems Squadron provides engineering support to enable the development of future test instrumentation capabilities to support ground and open-air testing on the Eglin Test and Training.
This position will perform systems engineering duties to support the Improvement and Modernization (I&M) portfolio of programs and will provide planning and operational support for test opportunities/exercises supporting system validation to the CTEIP portfolio of development programs.
96TH TEST WING MISSION: We test and evaluate state-of-the-art weapon systems and cyberspace capabilities, provide quality installation and mission support, and serve as responsible stewards of our resources to deliver war-winning capabilities.

Typical 2026 salary range: $89,508 to $138,370 Per Year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: Work will require travel TDY away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Desired Skills:
Systems Engineering Experience
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, managing instrumentation requirements, developing validation test criteria, providing technical systems engineering oversight on vendor programs, and producing technical documentation to communicate technical specifications or operating procedures during program development – Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience desired
Test/Exercise Planning Experience
- Experience conducting long range program planning for resourcing, budgeting, scheduling of availability of ranges, and range resources necessary to support test execution for weapon system programs- test execution experience is also desired
- Experience solving problems arising during test execution relating to overall deployment of assets and personnel, arranging for tests to be conducted at locations in CONUS/OCONUS – experience coordinating with representatives of test ranges, installations, and agencies desired
Major Duties:
- Solicit requirements from stakeholders and provide engineering expertise for I&M activities such as requirements management and configuration management using MBSE - prepare, review, and update required program documentation
- Coordinate the various phases of work with other functional disciplines and interprets/translates engineering requirements into design characteristics and criteria and monitor vendor progress
- Provide 96 RN investment programs with Systems Engineering guidance supporting technical reviews for programs, reporting on program status, issues, and milestone accomplishments
- Conduct planning and executing of validation testing to advance instrumentation development in the 96 RN investment portfolio.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship

- Knowledge of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply engineering theories, principles, and concepts to system design, architecture, and integration.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems.
- Ability to analyze data and establish requirements for technical objectives and characteristics.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct test execution efforts that comply with higher headquarters guidance to achieve organization and customer needs; management of resources to meets the needs of the development program and customers adequately and effectively.
