About the Role:
The 96th Test Squadron, in the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), is looking to hiring two (2) full-time Interdisciplinary Systems Engineering NH-0801-03 positions to join the prestigious Long Range Weapon Kill Chain (LRWKC) program at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. This is your chance to work on the #1 priority program for the 96th Test Wing, a multi-year, high-visibility initiative shaping the future of advanced weapon systems and national defense.
We are seeking talented and innovative problem-solvers from Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical engineering backgrounds to fill these critical roles. You will be involved in advancing the complete "Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage, and Assess" kill chain, tackling complex challenges in a world-class test and evaluation environment.
Mssion: The 96th Range Group develops, operates, and maintains the Eglin Test and Training Complex by providing airborne and range instrumentation, infrastructure, facilities, and technical expertise to support fielding of war winning capabilities. Vision: To be the most agile, responsive, and cost effective test and support organization in the DoW.. PURPOSE: Systems Engineer, NH-0801-03 This position is within the Advanced Test and Training Systems Flight in the 96 Test Systems Squadron and Long-Range Weapon (LRW) test infrastructure investments portfolio.

Typical 2026 salary range $89,508 - $138,537 Per Year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
The Test Systems Squadron provides engineering support to enable the development of test capabilities in support of future LRWKC portfolio. This position will perform systems engineering duties to support the Long-Range Weapon Kill Chain portfolio of programs.
Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
3+ years of Test Range experience, desired
2+ years of test experience; instrumentation development experience desired
2+ years of cross-functional team experience as a team member or leader desired.
1+ years of Systems Engineering experience and/or training desired
1+ years of Acquisition experience and/or training desired
Major Duties:
- Oversees the full life cycle procurements in modernizing the Eglin test range instrumentation to include telemetry systems and RF spectrum monitoring systems for Eglin’s land and maritime testing.
- Involved in range instrumentation acquisition efforts, including RFIs, RFPs, PWSs, SOOs, SOWs and other related documents.
- Reviews and implements acceptance test plans.
- Acquires telemetry systems, component replacements as well as Airborne to terrestrial satellite communications, datalink equipment, TSPI tracking Radar and mesh radio MIMO networks.
- Gathers requirements from stakeholders and provide engineering expertise for activities such as requirements management and configuration management.
- Coordinates the various phases of work with other functional disciplines and interprets/translates engineering requirements into design characteristics and criteria.
- Understands project requirements to prepare, review, and update required program documentation.
- Deliver presentations on program status to leadership, including accomplishments, solutions, and future requirements for support.
- Actively participate as a member or leader in team and group efforts in support of assigned systems and programs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship

- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution is highly desired.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance as a condition of employment.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
- This position has been designated an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving a "Practitioner" certification in "Program Management" within given period.
- Skill and ability to plan, organize, lead, and manage critical aspects of research and development for a variety of acquisition functions to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration management, and test and integration.
- The work requires the incumbent to adhere to security regulations and ensure classified material is controlled and secured at all times.
- The Test Systems Squadron provides engineering support to enable the development of test capabilities of ground and open-air testing. This position will perform systems engineering duties to support the Long-Range Weapon Kill Chain portfolio of programs.
