About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Motor Vehicle Operator, WG-5703-08 to work at the 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Distribution and Deployment Flight at Eglin, AFB, Florida.
To operate one or more types of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles typically having a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 32,000 pounds on public roads (or equivalent) in a full range of traffic conditions and at highway speeds to transport cargo. Also operates forklifts to facilitate cargo loading/unloading.

Typical 2025 salary range: $28.96 to $33.78 per hour (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
- 1 year experience of vehicle dispatching, maintenance and/or related skills.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of regulations, signs, signals, and maintaining safe distances.
- Strong customer service skills.
Major Duties:
- Drives one or more types of passenger vehicles such as 15 passenger vans, 23 passenger surrey buses, 28 and 44 passenger transit buses as well as 51 passenger couch buses.
- Operates vehicles on a regular/reoccurring basis to transport supplies, hazardous materials, equipment, and/or tools.
- Transport materials and equipment within the confines of Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, and Tyndall AFB, as well as negotiating congested traffic in and between the surrounding communities of Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola.
- Performs pre-, during-, post-operation vehicle inspections using appropriate inspection checklists.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must obtain &maintain government issue driver’s license
- Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
- Physical/Certificate of Medical Exam is required.
- A “Class A” valid commercial driver’s license with “Endorsement P” is required.
- Knowledge of and skill in operating a variety of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered vehicles.
- Skill in judging clearances, height, and turning angles of tractor and towed vehicles/equipment, and motor vehicles.
- Ability of interpret instructions, specifications, etc. related to motor vehicle, forklift, and power take-off unit operation and preventative maintenance.
