About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Financial Management Specialist (NH-0501-02) to work at the 412thTest Wing, 412th Wing Staff Agencies, 412th Comptroller Squadron, 412 CPTS/FMZ at Edwards AFB, CA

You will be responsible for providing oversight for financial management/administrative support to the organization's operations in one or more vital areas such as training, information management, documents and reports preparation, time and attendance, record/files maintenance, readiness, financial systems administration and/or other related administrative activities. As such, the incumbent identifies, coordinates, monitors, controls, and evaluates the financial/administrative/readiness/system support operations of the organization. Ensures coordination, adequacy, and timeliness of all actions and recommends improvements to various internal procedures and methods.


Location: Edwards, CA
Typical 2024 salary range: $46,020 - $109,673 (includes locality)
Telework Information: Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to plan and organize work

Major Duties:
- Serves as primary Financial Systems Administrator (FSA) providing database system support, data, and computer expertise for a variety of financial systems. FSA duties will cover basic systems analysis and technical support of FM systems for the installation.
- Functions as subject matter expert in established administrative processes and ensures they are in accordance with current Air Force, Test Wing and Squadron policies. Establishes and directs policy guidance, data research, and evaluation services to the team daily.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for mandated administrative support programs. Ensures unit program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives.
- Primary unit training manager/monitor for military personnel in Wing Staff Agencies and Comptroller Squadron and primary for civilian personnel in Comptroller Squadron and smaller Wing Staff agencies. Responsible for military upgrade training for Wing Staff Agencies and Comptroller Squadron, coordinating with respective agency directors, senior enlisted leaders, and supervisors.
- Plans and administers the Unit Readiness Program. Serves as the alternate unit deployment manager, planning and coordinating all 412th Wing Staff Agency deployment matters.

- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Subject to temporary duty assignment (TDY) for approximately 15 calendar days per year.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
- Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research/fact-finding, present facts, summarize results and make appropriate recommendation and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures involving administrative or support functions.
- Skill in oral and written communication required to deal effectively and tactfully with personnel at all levels.
- Knowledge of administrative and financial automated systems, personal computers, hardware, and software.
- Ability to analyze data/products and knowledge of personnel deployment requirements and unit readiness.
