The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Temporary Clerk (GS-0303-02/GS-0303-03/GS-0303-04) to work at the 96th Test Wing at Eglin AFB in Valparaiso, FL.

Temp/Term Statement:
• This a temporary position NOT to exceed 30-SEP-2024.

The candidate has the potential to be picked up on a GS-02, 03, or 04 position. This position has a typical 2024 annual salary range of (includes locality):

• GS-02: $28,880 to $36,347
• GS-03: $35,373 to $44,825
• GS-04: $35,373 to $45,982

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
• Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos and form letters.
• Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
• Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations applied to clerical assignment to perform the routine, procedural work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, screening telephone calls and visitors and processing mail.
• Knowledge of filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed.

Mission/Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform somewhat difficult and responsible clerical work in office, business, or fiscal operations, requiring some training and experience gained from previous work experience and training, a working knowledge of a subject matter area, or the exercise of independent judgment in accordance with well-established procedures.

Major Duties:
• Receives telephone calls and visitors.
• Processes incoming mail.
• Maintains files and posts updates to manuals on policies, directives, and memoranda.
• Prepares and maintains office forms of various types.
• Performs routine, miscellaneous clerical work.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• U.S. Citizenship Required.
• Direct Deposit: All federal employees are required to have direct deposit.
• Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide.
• This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
• Disclosure of Political Appointments.
• Category rating and selection procedures will be utilized.
• Security clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate level security clearance as a condition of employment.
• Working knowledge of the staff functions of the office to which assigned to maintain files, receive telephone calls and visitors, and process incoming mail.
• Knowledge of common clerical practices and procedures applicable to the processing of forms and requests used in various office support tasks, such as time and attendance and office supply requisitioning.
• Ability to follow instructions, comprehend, and apply guides and instructions for assigned tasks, such as filing correspondence, maintaining time and attendance information, and ordering office supplies.
